1939: the Bohemian Moravia is invaded by Nazi Germany, despite the Munich accords.
1917: Faced with the revolt that roars in all the major cities of Russia, the Tsar Nicholas ii abdicate.
1850: Promulgated under the leadership of Alfred de Falloux, then minister of public education, a new law establishes the freedom of secondary education.
- 44: Ides of March. Julius Caesar, who has just been proclaimed dictator for life, is assassinated, in full session of the Senate by about fifty senators in favor of the restoration of the republic.
