1929: Death of Georges clemenceau, French politician, born in 1841.

1936: Signature of Anti-komitern pact between Japan and Nazi Germany.

1859: The British naturalist Charles Darwin publishes “From the Origin of Species through Natural Selection to the Struggle for Existence in Nature” which was to be hugely successful.

1793: The Convention publishes the republican calendar which will remain in force until January 1, 1806.
