Of hero of the Royal Air StrengthChurchill said, "Never in the history of conflict have so many people owed so much to so little." Summer 1940, Great Britain finds himself alone in front of Nazi Germany which has just brought to its knees France in barely a month. Having neither the mastery of the seas nor the means to land the German army in England, Hitler decided to make it bend under the bombs of the Luftwaffe. The goal assigned to the British aviators is simple: prevent the Germans from inflicting an air defeat on England from which it could not recover. On the verge of breaking up, compensating for their numerical inferiority by the use of radar and the famous "spitfires", the English pilots will fulfill this task at the cost of heavy losses in their ranks. Hitler predicted that this battle would only end with the utter ruin of one of the two fighters. Her Majesty's courageous aviators have largely contributed to proving the Chancellor right, but not in the desired sense.
