24 hours to remake the history of the world (Nantes)

The 1st edition of "Us Others, 24 hours to remake the history of the world or almost", under the direction of Patrick Boucheron, will take place on Saturday March 7 in Nantes at the Grand T (Loire-Atlantique theater) and at the Château des Ducs de Bretagne. This event will offer spectators an immersion in history and stories, from film to workshop, mini-conferences in great interview, to end with a stage show.

Museums make their collections speak. Historians narrate our lives. And theaters, for their part, are nests for stories. Not only those written by the great authors of our heritage, but also those invented by today's artists, in search of new forms, to grasp something of the complexity of the world. Made up of poetry and drama, embodied on stage by beings of flesh and blood, they are a factory of images and situations that try to say what is happening to us, push us aside, overtake us and transform us.

With the Château des ducs de Bretagne - Museum of the history of the city of Nantes, the creators had the idea of bringing together two of these storytellers, Wajdi Mouawad and Sébastien Barrier, with historians who wonder on the ways of making history, the scholarly one which is based on erudition, the meticulous examination of archives and testimonies. Medievalist Patrick Boucheron joined in with enthusiasm. He surrounded himself with a small group of author-researchers, like himself, anxious to write history differently. It is no longer a question of celebrating the memory of nations, of portraying great men or of understanding the succession of civilizations, but of attempting the almost impossible: writing a history of the world that escapes the traps of the epic. , reconciles points of view and approaches the sensitive part of individual lives.
