Provins, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO for 10 years for its urban ensemble of Champagne Fairs, takes part in European Heritage Days every year. On September 17 and 18, free tours will be offered to discover the exceptional heritage of the medieval city.
Many buildings will exclusively open their doors to visitors, such as the Caveau du Saint-Esprit, the Couvent des Cordelières (guided tours by guide-lecturers) and the recently restored Benedictine priory of Saint-Ayoul church. Access to the Grange aux Dîmes and the Musée de Provins et du Provinois, must-see monuments in the city, will also be free.
Find many paying activities with as a novelty for 2011: the storytelling walk "The imagination invites itself to the underground" for an unusual walk in the mysterious setting of the underground galleries of Provins but also the historical shows "The Legend of the Knights" and "The eagles of the ramparts ”and the Steam Days of the AJECTA.
